Hooch was found abandoned in a house by his family and left without food for over a week. He was malnourished and suffering from multiple medical issues, including heartworm. His condition was critical and he needed immediate medical attention. With an estimated age of 3-4 years old, he was in dire need of treatment and care.
How The Karens Helped
The Karens stepped in at this crucial juncture, rescuing Hooch and taking him to the vet immediately. They arranged for the surgeries he needed, initiated treatment for heartworm, and put him on a diet to help him gain weight. But their assistance didn’t stop there. Recognizing that Hooch needed a nurturing environment to recover, they arranged for him to go into foster care with House of Hounds Rescue.
Hooch was transferred to House of Hounds Rescue and will continue to get the care he needs. With their help, Hooch was not just receiving medical care, but also the affection and companionship he needed. He was potty trained, crate trained, and taught basic commands. Further, his interactions with other animals were encouraging, showcasing his friendly nature.
Current Situation and Progress
Currently, Hooch is doing well in his foster home. He is gaining weight steadily and showing significant improvements in his health. He is settling in comfortably, working on improving his leash manners, and curbing his food-stealing habits.
Despite his past, Hooch’s spirit remains unbroken. He is a testament to the strength of character and the incredible ability to adapt and thrive even after facing adversity. His progress is updated regularly by The Karens, displaying their unyielding dedication to animal welfare.
